A dedication ceremony, which will include a demonstration of the new fire fighting apparatus will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Kinder Morgan Terminal located at 301 Nugget Avenue.
“Not only was Kinder Morgan instrumental in funding nearly all the costs for the new equipment, but they have been proactive in working with our fire department to improve the storage facility’s fire protection system,” Sparks Mayor Geno Martini said. “We greatly appreciate their generous support and partnership in this important endeavor.”
The vehicle was constructed using an existing city fire department vehicle that was fitted with a custom design foam delivery system supplied by Kinder Morgan. The new apparatus improves the Sparks Fire Department’s ability to mitigate an incident with greater efficiency and control, increases safety for firefighters and the public, and minimizes environmental impacts.
