RENO — Mars Petcare US is hosting the Biggest Little Pet Adoption Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The event includes 11 animal shelters from northern Nevada and will be held at the Atlantis Casino parking lot at the corner of Virginia Street and Peckham Lane.

The Biggest Little Pet Adoption Drive is a free event and will include a responsible pet ownership display, pet parade, local police K9 demonstrations, balloon clown and music. There will also be a raffle to win one year of Pedigree food for dogs or Whiskas food for cats and all new pet owners will receive a special gift. Pet parents are encouraged to bring their tail-wagging family members.

“We are excited to come together and help local pets find loving homes,” said Bret Spangler, Reno site manager, Mars Petcare US. “This is a great event for the entire family to find a new furry family member and support our local animal shelters.”

For each pet that is adopted, Mars will donate one case of Uncle Ben’s rice to the Northern Nevada Food Bank. Additionally, Mars Petcare US will plant one tree at the SPCA/Pedigree Dog Park at Sparks Marina for every 10 pets adopted.
