Signs on the Silver Club's doors on Tuesday reading 'closed for remodeling' were misleading. There are no plans for the Silver Club to reopen in the future, according to management.

The casino, which closed on Saturday, is still for sale.

"Someone put those signs up to put a positive spin on the situation," Silver Club general manager David Mustard said. "The Silver Club is closed and today we were taking the slot machines and everything else out of it.

"There have been several buyers interested in the property, but it hasn't been sold yet," Mustard added.

As an important part of Victorian Square, the city of Sparks has taken an interest in selling this property.

"We're just hopeful that the seller can find a buyer and the city is helping the seller in that respect," city spokesman Adam Mayberry said.

Public officials met at the Silver Club on Tuesday to discuss future plans for the building.

As for Mary B comment. As a business owner business is hard so I can only imagine how the casino industry is doing! I don't think the owner had anything to do with it! The slowing economy does! Silver Club seemed to do pretty good for many years. It sad to see another casino close in our area.

From what I have heard it was their own fault that they had to close. Whomevr the ownr(s) had running the place did not know what he was doing.
