RENO — The Reno Sparks Chamber’s political action committee has announced its endorsement of Republican candidate Mark Amodei for the Nevada Congressional District 2 special election on Sept. 13.

“After his stint in the army, Mark Amodei has spent his entire life in the private sector in the state of Nevada,” Chamber Chair Bruce Gescheider said in a press release. “Mark was born and raised here. He knows the issues that the people of Nevada face. He has traveled extensively throughout the 2nd Congressional District all of his life. He understands that the status quo just cannot work anymore. The members of the chamber need someone on Capitol Hill who will work to ensure that the number one priority is the growth of private sector jobs, not of government. The chamber has a history of working with Mark Amodei and we look forward to working with him in his new role as Nevada’s next congressman.”

The chamber’s political action committee, composed of six chamber board members and three general members, personally interviewed Amodei and Democratic candidate Kate Marshall on Aug. 8.
