CARSON CITY (AP) — Gov. Brian Sandoval has named a Las Vegas finance executive to the state Economic Forum, a panel that analyzes economic trends and projects state revenues.
Ken Wiles will fill the unexpired term of John Restrepo, former chairman of the five-member panel who resigned amid his own financial difficulties and bankruptcy filing.
Wiles currently serves as managing director of Acceleron, a firm specializing in investment banking and financial advisory services.
He is also a former finance professor at University of North Carolina’s Kenan Flagler Business School.
Sandoval said Wiles’ experience would provide vital insight as Nevada tries to re-grow its economy.
His term on the Economic Forum will run through January 2012.
