RENO — Washoe County’s Lockwood Trailhead will be closed through Monday for tree pruning and removal.
This work, which began Wednesday, is part of ongoing restoration efforts at this trailhead located along the Truckee River east of Sparks. Restoration work increases the health of the remaining trees and enhances the trailhead’s use as a unique location for hiking, fishing and bird watching.
The Lockwood Trailhead is managed by Washoe County’s Department of Regional Parks and Open Space. For more information, visit www.washoecountyparks.com.
