SPARKS — In their annual fundraising campaign for the United Way, employees at John Ascuaga’s Nugget raised $37,612.

The majority of the funds were direct contributions from employees. About $1,500 was raised through employee fundraisers such as bake sales and poker tournaments. The campaign took place from mid-April through mid-May this year.

“I am honored to work in a business that values community involvement,” said Terry Maine, employee relations manager and Nugget United Way coordinator. “It’s amazing to see the employees come together for a common goal: living united.”
