SPARKS – On June 19 at about 2 a.m., officers with the Sparks Police Department responded to a report of a domestic violence situation. Four calls were received by Sparks Police indicating a dispute was occurring between a male and female at a residence. One of the callers indicated the argument had been occurring for about 30 minutes. That same caller phoned back indicating the female was yelling, “Get off of me,” for the preceding 10 minutes.

Two uniformed officers arrived on scene and went to the front door of the house.  Officers could hear a female inside the residence saying, “Give me my phone, give me my phone.” Officers rang the doorbell and the female then yelled, “Help me, come in, help me!”

The two uniformed officers forced entry into the residence through the front door.  The officers were met by a female running down the stairs wearing only a T-shirt screaming hysterically and crying.  The woman cried out that a man had attempted to rape her. The woman told officers the suspect is Guy Blackburn and that she has a protective order against him and he was upstairs possibly hiding.

Officers were unable to locate Blackburn inside the residence.

Detectives were able to corroborate the disturbance through several neighbors. Additional witnesses were located and verified the chain of events and Blackburn’s statements to them about the crime. Blackburn was later located, interviewed and arrested.

Blackburn has a cash-only bail of $100,000. It was learned that he had been stalking, harassing and threatening the victim for a long period of time. Blackburn has been arrested previously for violating an extended protection order the victim had obtained.

The victim’s name is being withheld.
