SPARKS — Today and Sunday, the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) will hold a series of free workshops and evaluations for songwriters in the area.

The events for today are the following:

• Song Writing Workshop from 11 a.m. to noon in the upstairs of John Ascuaga’s Nugget with special guest Michael Laskow (CEO of Taxi)

• Music Publishing Workshop from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the upstairs of John Ascuaga’s Nugget with guest Michael Laskow

• Building a Press Kit Workshop from 2 to 3 p.m. in the upstairs of John Ascuaga’s Nugget with guest Michael Laskow

The events for Sunday are the following:

• Song Evaluation 1 to 3 p.m. in Casino Cabaret, John Ascuaga’s Nugget with special guests Ricky Skaggs, Neal McCoy and LoneStar
