ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Aces starter Barry Enright allowed just two runs over seven innings Sunday afternoon, but he was outdueled by a complete-game effort for Albuquerque’s John Ely, who lifted the Isotopes to a 3-1 victory over Reno in the series finale at Isotopes Park.

Enright (1-2) allowed just five hits with a walk and five strikeouts in an 87-pitch effort. Enright surrendered both runs in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Ivan De Jesus and a solo home run by Eugenio Velez.

The Aces were limited to just three hits Sunday — a third-inning single by Enright, a solo homer off the bat of Cody Ransom and an infield hit in the ninth inning by Cole Gillespie.

Ely (2-1) earned the win, striking out six and walking just one in a 107-pitch effort. It was the first nine-inning complete game of his career.

The Aces now hit the second leg of this eight-game road trip to begin a four-game set against the Round Rock Express at Dell Diamond. In the opener, LHP Zach Duke (0-0, No ERA) will make a Major League Rehabilitation start for the Aces. The Express will counter with RHP Derek Hankins (5-1, 5.95 ERA). First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. PT, and the action can be heard live on Fox Sports 630 AM or online at

The first-place Aces return home on Friday, May 27 for a four-game set against the Sacramento River Cats.
