Debra Reid A mix of hope and uncertainty filled the a crowd of 300 attending Thursday night's candlelight vigil for Brianna Denison. Concerned residents, friends and family members prayed for the 19 year old's safe return.
Around 300 friends and strangers braved bitter cold to stand in support of the Denison family. Another vigil held Friday night at Lawlor Events Center drew a crowd of concerned students.
Denison disappeared from a Reno home near the University of Nevada, Reno campus early last Sunday. The family appealed for any information, however minor, that might offer clues for Reno police. UNR campus police offered personal safety and self-defense tips to students.
Police said they've found little evidence and no suspects in an ongoing neighborhood search and questioning of known sex offenders. One clue, a possible blood stain, remains under investigation at the Washoe County Crime Lab said police.
Volunteers have posted hundreds of "missing person" fliers around Reno and Sparks. More fliers are available today at The Upper Deck store near the women's Macy's at Meadowood Mall. Fliers are also available at the Daily Sparks Tribune office at 1002 C Street.
