RENO — On Wednesday, May 11, at about 5:20 p.m., a Reno resident was in the 1600 block of Wedekind Road working on a vehicle. Defendant Aaron Teinert, 28, and an additional suspect engaged in a verbal argument with the resident and a fight ensued. Teinert violently attacked the victim and then fled the area. The victim immediately drove himself to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The victim received four wounds to his torso and arms, consistent with that of a knife attack. 

The Regional Gang Unit investigated this crime and developed information the suspect was Teinert. The suspect was apprehended on May 12, in the area of Sutro Street and Wedekind Road and subsequently booked into Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Jail. Teinert was charged with battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm, as well as possession of a controlled substance.
