Man killed on Everett Drive identified

RENO — The person killed in last week’s shooting on Everett Drive has been identified as Brandon LeBlanc, a 19-year-old resident of California.

LeBlanc was killed at about 9:45 p.m. by a resident who went to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked near his home in the 3300 block. The resident told Reno police officers that when he went to investigate the vehicle he was confronted with what he reported to be deadly force. According to police, the resident said he acted in self-defense when he shot and killed LeBlanc during the confrontation.

The matter continues to be under investigation by Reno police homicide detectives. Anyone who has information about this case is encouraged to contact the Reno Police Department Detective Division at 334-2115 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
