CARSON CITY — The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City District-Sierra Front Field Office, has prepared the Spanish Springs Quarry Mineral Sales, Conveyor Belt and Access Road Right-of-Way, environmental assessment (EA) and draft finding of no significant impact (FONSI). Martin Marietta Materials Inc. has submitted two applications to the BLM for review and approval:

• To renew the contract for sale of mineral materials (application no. NVN087320)

• To obtain a right-of-way authorization (application no. NVN078985) for the construction and operation of an aggregate conveyor belt and associated access road.

The project area is adjacent to Sha-Neva Road, east of Pyramid Way, in Washoe County. The EA assesses the potential direct and indirect effects on the human environment associated with these proposals.

The EA and draft FONSI are available for public review and comment online at www.blm.gov/nv/st/en/fo/carson_city_field/blm_information/nepa/spanish_springs_quarry.html. Hard copies also are available at the Carson City District Office.

Comments on the Spanish Springs Quarry mineral sales, conveyor belt and access road right-of-way environmental assessment (DOI-BLM-NV-C020-2011-0005-EA) will be accepted until April 28. Interested individuals can send written comments to the Sierra Front Field Office, 5665 Morgan Mill Road, Carson City, NV 89701, attn: Dan Erbes, or email comments to derbes@blm.gov.
