SPARKS — Secret Witness is offering a $750 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects wanted in connection with a battery with a deadly weapon and shots fired case involving 20-year-old Reno resident Courtney Gardner in the area of 1310 Scheels Drive in Sparks.

On Sunday at about 3:45 a.m. Sparks police responded to the area on reports of a fight and gunshots. Several suspects had challenged the victim and his friends to a fight. The victim said he initially tried to avoid the fight but later agreed. As Gardner and one of the suspects prepared to fight, another suspect fired a round from a handgun in the direction of the victim. Gardner was either struck by the bullet or a ricochet and received a minor injury. The suspects fled the scene. The victims were unable to provide authorities with a description of the suspects.

Sparks Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. Anyone having information relating to this crime or the suspects should contact the Sparks Police Department at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900 or visit www.secretwitness.com.
