CARSON CITY — The senior leadership of the Nevada Air National Guard is set to change Saturday when Col. Terrence Fornof becomes the commander of the Nevada Air National Guard and replaces outgoing commander Brig. Gen. Robert Fitch.

The change of command ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at the fuel cell hangar facility located at the Nevada Air National Guard base located at 1776 National Guard Way in Reno. Due to space constraints, this event is not open to the public.

Fornof’s previous assignment was as the acting director of the Nevada Guard’s joint staff. In that position, he was the primary liaison between the adjutant general and all assigned Nevada Guard components and units. He also has served as the advisor to the U.S. Air Force’s Warfare Center commander.

Fornof lives in Las Vegas. He is a native of Louisiana and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He received his commission in 1982.

Fitch, who has commanded the Nevada Air Guard since 2007, will become the assistant adjutant general of the Nevada Air Guard.
