The three nominees were selected from seven applicants following interviews on Feb. 9 in Reno. The names of the finalists have been sent to Gov. Brian Sandoval, who will appoint the new judge from the list.
The commission’s three nominees for appointment, in alphabetical order, are:
• Cassandra Campbell, 59, Reno, Law Office of Casey Campbell
• Egan Walker, 49, Sparks, Court Master, Second Judicial District Court
• Kenneth Ward, 58, Fernley, attorney in private practice
The vacancy resulted from the election of Family Court Judge David Hardy in November to the newly created District Court Department 15 seat, which is a civil-criminal judgeship. Whoever the governor selects must run and win in the 2012 election to retain the seat.
