DAYTON — For the 12th year in a row, Nevada Shakespeare Company, in conjunction with Gold Hill Theater, produces Shakespeare In School, an arts and humanities-based, education and community outreach program for northern Nevada middle and high school students.

For 2011, teaching artists Michele Crain and Chris Willson breathe new life into the Bard’s legendary roles of Kate and Petruchio. They also offer insight into their characters, advice on performing Shakespeare and bring a host of theater games.

The lessons are created by Crain, a certified Nevada teacher with 10 years experience in Clark and Lyon counties.

“We plan our program with the teacher and student relationship foremost in mind,” said Crain, who also serves as artistic director of Gold Hill Theatre in Virginia City, “Students will enjoy watching a fast paced action packed mini performance and then have the opportunity to perform themselves!”

For more information, call or e-mail Michele Crain at 775-315-8680 or theaterbabee@gmail.com.
