On July 13, a homeowner went into the sheriff’s office to file a report for missing furniture valued at $50,000. The victim said Hoggatt rented the home in May. The victim said he advised Hoggatt that all furniture was to remain in the residence.
On July 13, the victim went to the property to meet Hoggatt to perform an exit walk-through inspection since Hoggatt was moving out. Upon arrival, the victim discovered that all of the furniture was gone. The victim said Hoggatt never showed up for the exit walk-through. Hoggatt’s whereabouts could not be determined at the time.
On Jan. 13, the investigation led sheriff’s detectives to Hoggatt’s location at an undisclosed residence in Reno. Detectives made contact with Hoggatt and he was found to be in possession of the stolen furniture. Hoggatt was taken into custody and transported to the detention facility without incident. The stolen items were recovered as well.
