SPARKS — On Sunday at about 5:40 p.m., Sparks police officers responded to a call indicating there had been a vehicle accident, and that as a result of that accident a man was on fire. The call was in the 1600 block of Prospect Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found James Butler, a 51-year-old Sparks resident, lying in the roadway. Butler was able to speak with officers and said he had been run over by a vehicle. Butler identified the driver of the vehicle as Linda Bennett, a 60-year-old Sparks resident.
Police officers were able to speak with Bennett, who also had injuries. Bennett said that a fight between her and Butler occurred inside the truck.
Butler was transported to Renown Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Bennett declined treatment for her injuries.
