SPANISH SPRINGS — Families are invited to Spanish Springs High School for its annual Trick-or-Treat in the Halls event from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Students have decorated 30 doors, will give away lots of candy and host a wide variety of Halloween games for children. Trick-or-treaters are invited to join the Cougar students by dressing up in costume.
Admission is $2 or two canned goods per child (bring one can and admission is $1). Tickets for children’s games (cake walk, cookie decorating, haunted house, etc.) are 25 cents.

Trick-or-treat at the JCSU
RENO — Little ones in costume are welcome to trick-or-treat from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Joe Crowley Student Union on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. Candy, treats, cartoons and more can be found at this safe and fun Halloween event. Every floor is full of fun with candy, face painting and more. Admission is one canned food item per child. All donated items will benefit the Graduate Student Association Food Pantry, in turn supporting Nevada students in need.

Haunting fun at University of Phoenix
RENO — From 1 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, the University of Phoenix will host its third annual safe trick-or-treating at its northern Nevada campus with Halloween-safe activities and a hauntingly fun celebration. The event will be free and open to the public. Activities will also include a community-sponsored haunted house, a superhero party, a princess party, photo booth and free candy and prizes.

Festive costume contest at the Legends shops
SPARKS — Legends at Sparks Marina is hosting the second annual Legends Trick O’ Treat for families on Sunday.
Kids of all ages will be able to trick-or-treat at many of the stores throughout the shopping center from 3 to 4 p.m, and from 4 to 5 p.m. there will be a Halloween costume parade and contest.
Costume contest age categories are under 4 years old, 5 to 8 years old and 9 years old and older. First-, second- and third-place winners in each category will receive a contest trophy and first-place winners will also receive a $25 Legends gift card.
The parade will be led by Hello Kitty, Louisiana Jazz Kitchen’s alligator mascot and the city of Sparks Turkey Trot bird.
