The Reed High softball team is among the most successful programs in the state every year. A staple of the Raiders' schedule each season is their annual Spring Break tournament. That tournament weekend hits the calendar in the coming days and the softball fields at Shadow Mountain Park and Reed High will be bustling with activity Friday and Saturday.

A late Truckee rally wasn't enough to keep the Sparks Railroaders from picking up their first DI-A North League win of the spring campaign. Truckee had the potential winning run on second base, but left it stranded as Sparks held on for a 9-8 home win in the conference clash.
Cougars bounce Senators, Lancers in tournament baseball
On Tuesday, the Spanish Springs baseball team picked up two wins in the same day for the first time this season. The Cougars got by Carson 3-2 in the afternoon and then earned an 11-8 victory over McQueen in the evening. Both wins were of the comeback variety and came in Day 2 action of a non-league Spring Break tournament hosted at Carson High.
