The Reed High football team finds itself in a familiar spot, Nevada's large-school state semifinals. It's the fourth time in five years the Raiders have advanced to this stage and the third time during that stretch they've faced a southern Nevada opponent.

Raiders, Senators go to battle in regional football final
The Reed and Carson football teams are becoming familiar foes. For the second time in three years, the two schools will meet in northern Nevada's large school football championship game. Friday night's DI final, pitting the Raiders and Senators will be the fourth meeting in the last three seasons between the growing rivals.

High Desert League volleyball coaches released their annual postseason awards lists this week and Sparks-area athletes did not go unnoticed. Six Spanish Springs and four Reed standouts were honored on the all-league lists.
