Wild racing and sweeps at Lovelock
Hot weather set the stage for an evening of runaway victories, sweeps and some hard fought battles at the Lovelock Speedway. And the night ended with the IMCA Modfieds putting on their usual crazy show.
Out at the Plate
Sparks Centennial Renegades All-Star Cameron Draper tags out a South Lake Tahoe runner at the plate Saturday afternoon at Golden Eagle Regional Park. Sparks went on to win 3-1 in pool play action. Elimination play begins Monday.
Rail City champs
The Aces won the Sparks Little League city championship two weeks ago by beating the A’s, 7-1, in the championship game June 12 at the Shadow Mountain Sports Complex.

Real Reno, a local girls club soccer team, won the U.S. Club Regional tournament in Modesto, Calif. Monday. Real Reno topped the Napa (Calif.) United Elite 2-0 in Monday’s regional tournament championship.

The Civil War series brought its legion of winged 360 sprint car warriors to American Valley Speedway this weekend. While a local made a splash, a visitor used a charge from around mid-pack to claim the prize.

The Sertoma Classic pits the top northern Nevada graduating senior football players to suit up in its annual mid-June gridiron battle. Despite coaches picking all-star teams, the game rarely winds up in a close contest.
