RENO — Cole Gillespie’s three-run homer in the first inning helped stake Reno to a 4-0 lead Wednesday night, and the Aces held on to for a 4-3 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies at Aces Ballpark.

Mark Hallberg and Andy Tracy hit back-to-back homers for the Aces in the seventh inning Tuesday, but that was all the offense Reno could muster against Fresno in a 5-2 loss at Aces Ballpark.

Tucson outlasts Reno in 15 innings, 4-3

Spanish Springs football coach Scott Hare he wasn’t afraid to take an early season loss to a quality opponent if it helped his team in the long run. Well….Spanish Springs played a quality opponent early in the year, its season opener. And it took the loss. It will remain to be seen if the Cougars can learn from the defeat and take something positive from it.
Padres top Aces, 6-5
Cole Gillespie drove in two and ran his hitting streak to nine-straight games, but the Tucson Padres came from behind to clip the Reno Aces, 6-5, Friday night at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium.
