Unfortunately for the Blue and Gold, the final 14 minutes of the game at Reed on Saturday afternoon allowed everyone in attendance to move from the edge of their seat and exhale.
Sparks schools rake in all-league awards
This recently completed boys prep soccer season saw teams in the Rail City have plenty of success on the pitch, which paid off after the final whistle had blown. A combined 29 student-athletes from Reed, Spanish Springs and Sparks were recognized with postseason awards.
Reed coaches appreciate Raiders efforts in North title game
In the Division I North's championship football battle last Friday night, Damonte Ranch running back Drew Smith took the opening kickoff against Reed and zig-zagged 60 yards to the Raiders’ 21-yard line. For a moment, it looked as though Smith would give the Reed defense headaches all night. Unfortunately for the Mustangs, the kickoff return turned out to just be a short-lived brain freeze on the part of the Raiders.
