Beatles tribute coming to Pioneer Center
Dubbed “the next best thing to seeing The Beatles!” by The Associated Press, Rain performs the full range of The Beatles’ discography live onstage, including the most complex and challenging songs that The Beatles themselves recorded in the studio but never performed for an audience.

On display is the exhibit “Out of the Forest: Art Nouveau Lamps,” which includes 20 lamps by Tiffany Studios and other lamp manufacturers of the art nouveau era, all from the private collection of Byron Vreeland.
Author to hold book signing
At 2 p.m. Saturday, author Jeannie Klerk De-Vries will sign copies of her book “My Mother’s Nightmare: A Holocaust Diary,” at the Barnes & Noble book store at 5555 S. Virginia St. in Reno.
Live owls take center stage at museum
Owls are seldom seen in the light of day, but at least one will make a special appearance at the Nevada State Museum when wildlife biologist Jenni Jeffers presents “Nocturnal Birds” at 7 p.m. today.
