RENO — Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) has announced the next round of honorees to be recognized through its “Caught in the Act” program. The individuals and organizations honored were “caught in the act” of improving the quality of life in the Truckee Meadows by positively impacting one or more of the community’s 33 quality of life indicators.
Caught in the Act Honorees:
• Dave Kary and George Tackett, Sparks Rotary — For improving our literate community by leading the Dictionary Project to donate a dictionary to every third-grade student in Washoe County.
• Stuart Gordon, Family Counseling Services — For improving our health and well-being by running one of the few mental health nonprofits in the community for people who have limited financial resources.
• Kevin Dick, Nevada Small Business Development Center – For his innovative work chairing the 2008 “greenUP!” campaign to build a sustainable community.
These individuals will be honored at TMT’s quarterly membership meeting on March 19 from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at Remedees meeting room at Renown Health/Advance Medicine Health Building.
