The installation costs will be partially offset by rebates totaling $995,410, which the city is receiving through its participation in NV Energy’s SolarGenerations program.
In an effort to keep power costs down and reduce the city’s carbon footprint, Sparks invested in the photovoltaic project that is using solar panels in a parking lot and on turf at the Golden Eagle Regional Park to generate energy for stadium lights and reduce the city’s electricity cost.
The dedication will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Golden Eagle Regional Park is located about eight miles north of Interstate 80 on Vista Boulevard in Wingfield Springs.
