Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day — a little early — at the Top O’ The Mornin’ Fun Run/Walk event on March 15, at the Sparks Marina Park. Take part in the tradition of wearing green to honor the Irish holiday, and enjoy a healthy two-mile walk/run or 10K (timed) run around the park. The first race (10K) begins at 8:30 a.m.

Register through March 6 online at www.active.com or at the Recreation Office, 98 Richards Way, and receive a $5 coupon good towards any Parks and Recreation program. The registration fee is $18 for both children and adults, which includes a long-sleeve mock t-shirt and post-race refreshments.Race day registration will be held from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at the Marina. The fee is $25 per person. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed for day of registration.

Proceeds from the Top O’ The Mornin’ event will benefit the Sparks Youth Scholarship Fund, which assists children who cannot otherwise afford to participate in recreation programs.
