SPARKS — The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is saying that the investigation into the deaths of husband and wife Harry and Pamela Grund was a murder/suicide.

On May 19, the Grunds’ remains were found inside their burning garage at 9040 Spanish Trail Drive at about 6 p.m. The WCSO on Friday said evidence indicates that Harry, 61, shot and killed his wife, Pamela, 57, then shot himself. Harry Grund then set fire to his residence and ultimately died from a combination of smoke inhalation and his gunshot wound.

Initially, deputies responded to assist the Reno Fire Department with traffic control on a fully engulfed garage. Once the flames were extinguished, the Grunds’ bodies were discovered.

The Grunds purchased the home in 2003, according to county records.

Anyone with information about the Grunds or this incident is urged call sheriff’s detectives at 328-3320 or Secret Witness at 322-4900, report online at or www.secretwitness.com, or text the tip to 847411 (TIP 411) keyword “SW.”
