RENO — Ignacio Valencia, 42, of Reno was found guilty Tuesday of three counts of sexual assault on a child under 14 years old and two counts of lewdness with a child under 14 years old. Each count carries the possibility of a life term in Nevada State Prison, according to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office.

Valencia’s trial began Monday in the Second Judicial District Court. The offenses were committed in south Reno against a single girl in December 2009, according to Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Druckman. Valencia worked two jobs as a maintenance man when the crimes were committed, Druckman said.

Judge Patrick Flanagan presided over Valencia’s trial. Valencia is expected to be sentenced April 13 in Department 7. Valencia was represented by John Olson. Druckman presented the state’s case against Valencia.
