Reno Rockabilly Riot car show and music fest

RENO — The Grand Sierra Resort will host Reno Rockabilly Riot No. 2, a traditional hot rod car show and music festival, Friday through Sunday. The popular weekend event will feature Taildraggers CC with a variety of activities including a car show and the Most Rockabilly Tattoo Show hosted by last year’s Best of Show winners, The Pink Pearl.

The weekend is full of activities including a special roller derby by the Reno Roller Girls, the Von Hot Pinstriping Circus, a pin-up contest, fastest mechanic, toilet seat races, drag races, live music and more. Retail sellers of Collectable Diecast cars as well as Diecast car builders will introduce an ultra-collectable Reno Rockabilly Diecast car with A-Bomb logo.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson, known for her rockabilly and country crossover sounds, kicks off the weekend of music on Friday followed by Zeke, and The Chop Tops, a punk rock band, Saturday evening. Both performances will be held in the Grand Theatre at 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or through the GSR box office. Enjoy other sounds from Vintage Vandals and Swamp Angel.

Tickets to the event include: $10-day passes for Friday, Saturday or Sunday; $35 weekend passes which include a T-shirt; and $50 all-access passes which include a T-shirt and show tickets for Zeke and The Chop Tops. All tickets are available online or through the GSR box office at 789-2000.
