PLEASANTON, Calif. — Local student and budding young artist Annie Mueller is the first-place winner in the seventh annual Lucerne “The Art of Dairy Art” contest that awards Mueller and her teacher $2,500 each and an additional $5,000 for the art department at Reed High School in Sparks.

Mueller was one of only nine finalists in America to win the opportunity to design and paint a life-size cow sculpture in the contest that drew a virtual online stampede. The contest drew a record 9,200 entries from students across the nation.
