RENO — Police, fire and REMSA were called to Virginia Lake at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday on the report of a person who had possibly drowned.
Upon arrival, they discovered that the victim had been swimming in the lake when he suffered some sort of difficulty that caused him to drown. The man is was being treated at an area hospital as of Monday afternoon. Officials said alcohol appears to be a factor in the incident, but the victim’s complete medical condition is not yet known.
The investigation is ongoing. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time.
