Hristova will also perform an unforgettable evening of music dedicated to the unaccompanied violin at 7 p.m. Saturday. The 26-year-old award-winning virtuoso performs John Corigliano’s “Red Violin Caprices,” 2012 Pulitzer Prize winner Kevin Puts’s “Arches,” Piazzolla’s “Three Tango Etudes,” Nathan Milstein’s “Paganiniana” and J.S. Bach’s monumental “Partita” in D minor. The concert will take place in the newly constructed and acoustically brilliant Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
Hristova performs on a 1655 Nicolo Amati violin. General admission for both performances costs $20, and admission costs $5 for youth age 18 and younger and full-time students. $100 VIP tickets are also available for Saturday’s show, which include preferred seating and a post-concert reception with the artist. Tickets are available online or by calling 348-9413.
