HENDERSON (AP) — School officials say a campus police officer was injured and drew his gun to end a confrontation with a 15-year-old student who was involved in a cafeteria fight at a high school in Henderson.
Acting Clark County Schools Police Chief James Ketsaa tells the Las Vegas Sun the teen left Green Valley High School and then returned after administrators broke up a fight between him and another student about noon Wednesday.
Officials say the teen hit and verbally threatened the officer before fleeing the campus again when the officer drew his weapon.
The unidentified teen was arrested at home and charged as a juvenile with battery on a police officer and disturbance of a school.
School district spokeswoman Amanda Fulkerson says the officer was treated for a concussion.
