RENO — Many of Nevada’s most celebrated artists will share their work at the second annual Nevada Expressions Show and Sale, to be held at the Sierra Arts Gallery in the Riverside Hotel in downtown Reno on April 20 and April 21. The event is a fundraiser for protection of the Virginia City National Historic Landmark.

“This is an opportunity to see recent work from 25 of the most prominent contemporary Nevada artists all in one place,” said Robin Cobbey, board chairman of the Comstock Residents Association, sponsor of the event. “It’s really one of the premiere art events in the state.”

“These artists are top flight,” Stacey Spain of Sierra Arts said. “Any of which we’d hope to have showing in our gallery anytime. To have them all here at once, for a great cause, is special.”

Wally Cuchine, retired director of the Eureka Opera House and renowned collector of Nevada art will be present at the Artists’ Reception from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 20, as will most of the artists represented in the show. He calls Nevada Expressions II “… an opportunity for anyone interested in adding to their Nevada art collection, or those who may just be starting to collect art, from some of the very best artists that Nevada has to offer. No place has this variety of art for those of us who love and support Nevada Artists.”

Paintings predominate, but other media are also represented.
