RENO — A mindful citizen’s tip led to the arrest of a man who was seen crawling through a window at 345 West Pueblo Ave. in Reno at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Reno police set up a perimeter around the home before conducting a search. Officers found the suspect, Carlos Olicarria, 26, hiding inside one of the downstairs bedroom closets and arrested him without incident

Officers reportedly found evidence of the burglary inside Olicarria’s backpack.

Olicarria is on probation for possession of stolen property, according to Reno Police Department. Following Wednesday’s arrest, he is charged with residential burglary and a probation violation for stolen property.

“This is another excellent example of the community and the police department working together to fight crime,” Reno police said in a statement.

Anyone with additional information to this crime is asked to contact the Reno Police Department at 334-2175 or Secret witness at 322-4900.
