RENO — The Tour de Nez will be holding its annual Gran Fun-Do bike ride on June 23.
The Gran Fun-Do showcases the beauty of Nevada and gives locals the chance to embrace the sport of cycling. Rides begin at 7 a.m. and the last day to register online is June 20. Riders can also register at the event right up to the time they set off on the ride. Prices range from $20 to $50.
The Gran Fun-Do is a “gotta ride your bike a long way poker game,” that includes three different rides, each with different mileage, skill level and festivities.
The Grand Fun-Do rides highlight the scenic Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway Path mixed with a little bit of gambling. The metric century race will get you entered into the seven-card stud poker game. The half-metric race will get two cards and entered into a blackjack game. Bikers will pick up their cards at the refreshment stops on the route. All hands will be played at 3 p.m. at Idlewild Park. The final race is an 8-mile race for children and families.
The Gran Fun-Do is a fundraiser for The Tour de Nez’s outreach and projects along with the Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Tour de Nez’s three-day race at the end of July.
