I feel it is my obligation as a Social Studies teacher to prepare young citizens to participate and engage in their community," she said. I think middle school is the perfect time to get students directly involved in democratic process. Students in middle school really start to find the election process interesting, ask questions and get excited about the candidates running. The mock election is a perfect opportunity for the students of Sparks to be part of a nationwide vote.
