With the temperature reaching more than 100 degrees Thursday afternoon, area kids enjoyed the coolness of the fountain in front of the Sparks Century 14 Theaters. The fountain is one of many ways children have used to stay cool during the scorching summer weather. They have also turned to cool water at Wild Island Waterpark, Lazy 5 Waterpark and the Truckee River. The heat wave of temperatures greater than 100 degrees is expected to cool down this weekend as temperatures return to the mid 90s.
