RENO — As part of the Healing Arts program, brother and sister duo Peter and Andrea Lenz will perform on Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Tahoe Tower Lobby at Renown Regional Medical Center. Peter will be playing the cello with Andrea accompanying him on the piano. All Healing Arts program performances are free and open to the public.

Peter Lenz has been principal cello of the Reno Philharmonic since 1982. He is also principal cellist with the Reno Chamber

Orchestra, and has performed as a guest principal cellist with the Las Vegas Symphony. Although orchestral performance is his primary interest, Peter has performed as soloist with a number of orchestras in northern Nevada, including the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as given extensive chamber music appearances. Peter Lenz holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mining engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Andrea Lenz is associate professor of music and chair of the department of music and dance at UNR, where she has been teaching since 1976. After studying at Mills College with Jean-Louis LeRoux, she finished her Bachelor of Music in oboe performance and her Master of Music in composition from the University of New Mexico. She is the principal oboist of the Reno Chamber Orchestra, the Reno Philharmonic and the Nevada Opera.

A local donor funds the Musical Art Series, including performances by the Reno Chamber Orchestra, the Reno Philharmonic Youth Symphony Orchestra and the music at the bedside at Renown Regional Medical Center.
