Rehearsals will be held from July 24 to Aug. 2. Performances are Aug. 3, 4-5 at Brüka Theatre.

This is a wonderful chance to work with two experienced Nevada theatre artists working in professional theaters all over the country, including St Louis and Chicago.

“The Aftermath” is a family drama about the connections we have or don’t have in our own families, learning to trust others and ourselves and desire to simply be loved and appreciated by those who should love us the most. The story follows Dee Dee, an artist who has just attended her father’s funeral in Carson City.  Dee Dee and her father have a strained relationship, so she feels as if she didn’t know her father at the time of his passing. As she attempts to learn who her father was, many secrets about the family are revealed and a stranger becomes much more important than Dee Dee could have ever imagined. The play also deals with Asperger’s Syndrome, a mild form of autism through Dee Dee’s son.
