SPANISH SPRINGS — The bodies of an adult man and adult woman were found inside a garage fully engulfed in flames in the 9000 block of Spanish Trail Drive early Saturday night.

The identities of the two people have not been released, pending formal identification and notification of next of kin, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday.

When the incident was first reported, sheriff’s deputies responded to assist the Reno Fire Department with traffic control on the fire. Once Reno firefighters extinguished the flames, bodies of a man and woman were discovered. Sheriff’s detectives were then called out to continue the investigation. The cause of death is still unknown. There was significant damage throughout the rest of the residence caused by the garage fire.

The bodies were taken to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
