Nevada Humanities Presents “Nevada Humanities Chautauqua 2012: Saints and Sinners” Nevada Humanities celebrates the 21st anniversary of the Nevada Humanities Chautauqua festival, June 25-28, at the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley Ranch Regional Park, 6000 Bartley Ranch Road, Reno. Explore the lives of legendary characters such as Robert E. Lee, Benedict Arnold, Mary Harris “Mother” Jones, Eleanor Roosevelt, Malcolm X, and George Wallace. Also share in the final performances of our talented Young Chautauquans. Evening events begin with a musical performance followed by two theatrical Chautauqua presentations. Gates open at 5:00 pm, music starts at 6:00 pm, and Chautauqua presentations begin at 7:00 pm. Plenty of comfortable seats are available as well as a lawn area for those who prefer to bring their own blanket or low-rise chair. Seat tickets are $25 per night/$60 per three-day pass; lawn tickets are $10 per night. Children 12 and under are free. Online ticket sales begin April 1 at nevadahumanities.org. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate the evening of the performance. Feel free to bring a picnic, or enjoy the excellent food provided by Men Wielding Fire, which will be available for purchase each evening at the entrance to the amphitheater.
