IRONMAN Lake Tahoe is coming up on Sunday, September 22. Rob “Fireman Rob” Verhelst, a firefighter, US Air Force veteran, and triathlete, is available to talk about his training secrets, including what athletes need to know about post-workout recovery.
Fireman Rob is racing on behalf of the REFUEL | got chocolate milk?campaign and is available to share his story and discuss how local athletes can apply to become members of Team REFUEL.
Race participants can visit the REFUEL zone at the Athlete Village expo, pose for photos, and shoot a short video for the opportunity to get sponsored as part of Team REFUEL – an exclusive group of elite and “everyday” athletes who understand the benefits of post-exercise recovery. As a team member, local athletes can score a $500 sponsorship, receive race gear and free VIP race entries for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series or IRONMAN triathlons.
· Fireman Rob, a 12-year firefighter and United States Air Force veteran, is available for interviews. Rob competes in numerous IRONMAN triathlons across the country while wearing full firefighter gear during the marathon portion of each race. Rob will be representing Team REFUEL while racing in IRONMAN Lake Tahoe on September 22nd.
